L’operazione di recupero e trasformazione dell’ex Area industriale Montedison è parte di un più vasto piano di risanamento di un area, quella della bassa valle del fiume Esino, nel territorio marchigiano, ad alto rischio di crisi ambientale.
E’ stato analizzato il rapporto che l’area Montedison ha con i principali elementi del suo intorno, individuando così gli ambiti di intervento.
Il paesaggio agricolo: ipotesi di filiera agroalimentare sostenibile.
Il mare: introduzione della pesca nel programma a chilometri zero e di un sistema di difesa costiera.
I nuclei urbani: l’ex Montedison sarà il legante urbano tra la frazione di Rocca Priora e il comune di Marina Montemarciano con l’introduzione, al suo interno, di servizi per la collettività.
Gli impianti industriali: ipotesi di trasformazione delle produzioni industriali esistenti.

The operation of recovery and conversion of the ex Montedison Industrial Area is part of a far vaster plan for the transformation of the entire portion of the lower valley of the Esino River in the Marche region, currently at crisis levels of environmental risk.
The first step was an analysis of the interaction of the Montedison area with the principal elements of the surrounding environment, in order to establish the areas of intervention.
The farmland: the introduction of self-renewing food chains.
The sea: the introduction of fishing at zero chilometers in the program, and a system for the preservation of the coastline.
The urban areas: the ex Montedison plant will become a hub, providing the services for the communities of Rocca Priora and the village of Marino Montemarciano.
The industries: the renovation of existing industrial production.

La filiera: utilizzando il terreno agricolo antistante l’area di progetto, si ipotizza un sistema di produzione integrato, cui verranno affiancati i servizi satellite, ubicati nelle strutture dell’ex Montedison. L’intento è quello di ridurre al minimo il percorso che i prodotti alimentari compiono dalla terra alla tavola, un percorso a chilometri zero che si concretizza nell’area dell’ex Montedison con il mercato cittadino, punto di scambio dei prodotti provenienti dalla filiera.

Agricultural chain: utilizing the agricultural areas surrounding the project zone, an integrated production system will be arranged, which will be augmented by the satellite services located in the ex-Montedison buildings. The intention is the maximum reduction of the distance from the land to the table, which would become nonexistent through the institution of a farmers’ market for the exchange of agricultural products in the old Montedison building.

Un sistema di parchi si snoderà lungo tutta la bassa valle dell’Esino e si concluderà, nell’area dell’ex Montedison con il nuovo parco urbano.

A system of parks will wander along the whole lower Esino valley, and will end up at the new urban park situated in the ex-Montedison area.

Quella dell’ex Montedison è un’area delimitata da due forti barriere: la strada statale, che la separa dal paesaggio agricolo, e la ferrovia, che segna il grande ostacolo tra essa e il mare. L’intento del progetto è il superamento di queste barriere, attraverso un parco che si insinui nell’intorno urbano e che arrivi al mare. L’elemento chiave di questa comunicazione sarà il dialogo con la ferrovia, nell’intento di garantire l’accesso al mare passando sotto la ferrovia. Si generano delle curve, suggestionate dall’indeterminatezza del confine naturale, dal moto del mare e dai flussi di comunicazione dell’area con il gli elementi del suo intorno. Così facendo, la spiaggia entrerà nel parco.

The ex-Montedison area is restricted by two irremovable barriers: the highway, which separates it from the agricultural zone, and the railway, which blocks it off from the ocean. This project’s intention is to overcome these barriers, by way of the creation of a park that wanders through the urban area and then arrives at the sea. The obstacle to the realization of this project will be the collaboration of the railroad, since the project sees the park providing seaside access by means of an underground passage of the railroad. In this way, curves would be formed by the natural conformation of the terrain, and ultimately, the beach would become part of the park, with all the magic of the tides.

Gli stessi flussi generano i percorsi del parco, che lo dividono in aree tematiche ed integrano gli edifici industriali al sistema.

These same influences determine the directions of the park, which then divides the area into thematic groups and integrates the industrial buildings into the system.

Gli edifici presenti ospiteranno una foresteria, uno spazio espositivo (anche adibito a centro fiere per la pubblicizzazione dei prodotti della filiera), un mercato cittadino con auditorium e sala proiezioni (cuore pulsante dell’area).

The buildings will hold a guesthouse and an exhibition area (also useful for the advertisement of products from the food chain) and farmers’ market with Auditorium and projections room.
